November 22, 2009: What's ANSWER's opinion on the use of checkpoints in law enforcement? The national branch is happily announcing that the District of Columbia's checkpoint program was found unconstitutional. The San Francisco branch, meanwhile, is screening a pro-Prohibition documentary produced by a pair of men who helped run a roadblock in 2007 to attempt to keep alcohol out of their 'dry' jurisdiction. I haven't seen the documentary yet (screening in SF is in December, and it doesn't appear to be available as a download) (Quotes added to 'dry' because a nation with a population between 15,000 (US 2000 census) and 40,000 (tribal government estimate) that drinks 12,000 cans of beer a day from ONE border town alone strikes me as rather more wet than dry.)
